From the moment Xiaomi Redmi AirDots were released, I was curious about getting them. What made them especially appealing to me was how budget-friendly they were. I got mine via AliExpress at the price of $23 US.
Honestly, I did not expect a lot from these Bluetooth headphones. I wanted to get them as they seemed like an interesting experiment, I have planned using these for jogging. Let’s go over the specifications below and I can share my impressions so far.

For this small form factor and the price you are paying, these specs sound great. As I have been using these for almost a year now, I will share my experience and the overall impression of the device.
Xiaomi Redmi AirDots Review – My Impressions
There are a couple of things I want to talk about. The battery life, sound quality, build quality, and my overall impression.
Battery Life
Battery life is a bit lower than the stated specifications, however, the Redmi AirDots are still useful. I was able to enjoy my whole workouts with the music blaring into my ears. Once finished, I still had around 60% of battery left, so that amounts to around 2.5 – 3 hours of music playback. As you can tell, you can enjoy a whole movie using these for sure.
Sound Quality
You cannot expect some extraordinary sound quality when you are looking at this kind of a budget device. However, owing to the fact that ear caps block out quite a lot of sound from your surroundings, the sound levels are quite satisfying. Overall, you can expect the usual budget-limited experience that will get the job done.
Build Quality
If you are considering to get Redmi AirDots, you should know that you will need to take extreme care of them. Even though I use these when I am working out alone, I still take special care of them. You will need to do the same as these are made out of plastic. It is nothing surprising really, at this price point I did not expect great build quality. These are built to simply get the job done.
Overall Impression
Overall, I am perfectly satisfied with this Xiaomi Redmi AirDots. I have received the product I was hoping to get. I get to enjoy music while doing physical activity. The headphones remain in my ears even when I am jogging for a whole hour, without me needing to adjust them.
There are three sizes of ear caps that you can choose from. It ensures you are going to get the perfect fit.
If you are looking for a premium sound quality product, the Redmi AirDots are not for you. On the other hand, if you want something to get the job done without having to invest too much money, this is the win-win solution.
I got these headphones just as an experiment as I wanted to test out Bluetooth on my Xiaomi Mi A3, in the whole process, I ended up satisfied. I hope you are going to be too. The product does what it is advertised for.

How to Pair Xiaomi Redmi AirDots?
Pairing Xiaomi Redmi AirDots is a straightforward process. You can start using the headphones immediately. Here are the steps to follow:
- Turn on Bluetooth on the device you plan to pair.
- Take out the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots simultaneously out of the charge box. They will automatically turn on and connect to each other.
- On your Bluetooth device list, connect to the Redmi AirDots_R. That’s all, the connection will set up. Don’t connect each headphone separately, you only need to pair one, both of them will work then, as they are connected to each other.
In case there is an issue over time, you can always reset the headphones and pair them again with your device. I only had to do this once, and this was months ago.
How to Reset Xiaomi Redmi AirDots?
To reset the Xiaomi Redmi AirDot, you have to follow these steps.
- Start off by unpairing the headphones from your device. Find it in the Bluetooth paired devices list and unpair/forget them.
- Hold the buttons on the AirDots for 5 seconds. This will turn off the device.
- On both of the AirDots, press the function button for 20 seconds. You should notice lights blinking after 10 seconds, keep the buttons pressed. You will see the lights blinking again, you can release the buttons now. Doing this will establish a connection between them.
- You can now press buttons on both of the AirDots and hold them for 5 seconds. They will now turn on and connect to each other. You should see a white blinking light on the right earpiece, while the left one is off. This indicates that they are connected to each other and that the right one is awaiting pairing with your device.
